Our History

1973 Takao Watanuki passed the patent attorney examination.
1974 Watanuki Patent Service Bureau was opened in front of Nagano Station and started patent seminars to popularize the patent system.
1978 The office was moved to Suzuki Building located in Okadamachi, Nagano City. Takao Watanuki joined the Electric Shaver Lawsuit (Phillips vs. Izumi Seiki) and won.
1981 Takao Watanuki became the vice-chairman of the trademark committee of Japan Patent Attorneys Association.
1983 Takao Watanuki attended the general convention of AIPPI commemorating the 100th anniversary of Paris Convention.
1984 Takao Watanuki lectured in the South Pacific Industrial Property Seminar of WIPO and became the vice-chairman of the design committee of Japan Patent Attorneys Association.
1985 Kabushiki Kaisha CreA -Intellectual Property Laboratory- was established. The first “All Shinshu Patent Seminar” was held in Matsumoto City, Nagano. Takao Watanuki became a member of the governing board of Asama Technopolis Organization and lectured in the industry-academic-government seminar held at the University of Texas, USA. Kazuharu Horigome passed the patent attorney examination.
1986 The CreA Center Building was built in Nakagosho, Nagano City, and the office was moved to the building.
1987 Takao Watanuki became a part-time instructor of the engineering department and the textile department of Shinshu University and Nagano College of Industry and Technology.
1989 Takao Watanuki became a part-time instructor of JA Academy and lectured the patent system in Chemical Academy of Soviet.
1991 Patent Management Special Seminar was started. Takao Watanuki became a member of the Committee for Promotion of Core Technologies.
1992 Takao Watanuki became an executive member of Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation.
1994 Takao Watanuki studied in Georgetown University in Washington DC. The 10th “All Shinshu Patent Seminar (Creative Technical Development Seminar)” was held in Nagano City.
1995 Takao Watanuki became a chief of the Training Institute of Japan Patent Attorneys Association and a member of the Mark Section of Nagano Winter Olympic Organizing Committee.
1996 Takao Watanuki became a mayor of Nakano City, Nagano and served until 2004 (two terms for eight years). Kazuharu Horigome became a part-time instructor of the engineering department of Shinshu University.
2003 Takao Watanuki became a special adviser of TOL.
2004 Takao Watanuki became a guest professor of the CRC of Shinshu University. Kazuharu Horigome obtained a license of an attorney for infringement lawsuit.
2005 Takao Watanuki became a member of the Regional Action Promotion Head Office of Japan Patent Attorneys Association.
2006 Takao Watanuki became an executive member of Nagano Design Promotion Association and a school board chairman of Nagano Prefecture.
2008 Takao Watanuki became the President, and Kazuharu Horigome became the General Manager.
2009 Kazuharu Horigome became a chairman of Nagano Branch of Japan Patent Attorneys Association.
2010 Takashi Okamura became the General Manager.
2013 Watanuki Patent Service Bureau became a patent professional corporation.
2014 Takashi Okamura became a chairman of Nagano Branch of Japan Patent Attorneys Association.
2019 Takao Watanuki became the special council.
2021 Masahiko Denda became a chairman of Nagano Branch of Japan Patent Attorneys Association.
2022 Watanuki Patent Service Bureau became a patent attorney corporation.
